Ralph Lauren Shuts Down Madison Avenue for His Star-Studded Fashion Show
Only a handful of people can close down 10 blocks of Madison Avenue, and Ralph Lauren is one of those few who can. He staged his show outside the Ralph Lauren flagship store to a packed front row of celebrities to announce that he will be joining the “see now, buy now” concept for the first time.

The Designer: Ralph Lauren needs no introduction. An iconic figure in American fashion, he is more than just a designer, he’s a representation of the dream lifestyle, and these days, it’s not just the American dream, it’s a global dream.

The Front Row: The front row celebrities included Julianne Moore and daughter Liv Freundlich, Jessica Alba, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, Haley Bennett, and Annabelle Wallis, who all sat with Mrs. Ralph Lauren, paying their respects to the man himself. Seldom do you see editors in chief in the second row and fashion directors in the third row, but at Ralph Lauren, you do!

Model Moment: Stella Tennant made an appearance, which is rare and a delight since she steps out on the runway these days only for special occasions.

Bella Hadid looked great, as if her fall earlier in the day had no impact whatsoever, and this is the mark of a supermodel!

#WantItNow: A cowboy shirt, shown on the runway paired with black pants, will definitely be high on editors’ lists, along with the leather jacket on Kendall Jenner!

#WantItNow: This whole look is a #WantItNow moment.

Trend Alert: Ralph and his team might have taken a trip to Santa Fe, N.M., judging from the turquoise, fringe, and poncho, and we are into it!

Future Red-Carpet Fave: Again I will say, the new evening silhouette is definitely the long jacket/dress with pants.

The Takeaway: When the smaller designers decide to follow the trend of “see now buy now,” it might be a fad or a passing moment, but when Ralph Lauren decides to have his entire collection, from full looks to all the accessories, follow this buying concept, it’s a sign of the future.
