Red Carpet Dress Reminds Internet of Lady Parts
While a woman’s lady parts are beautiful in the sense that they create life, pleasure, and individuality, we’ve never really considered them so beautiful that we’d want to wear them on a dress — like a big flower. But maybe we should, because they are beautiful flowers. Australian TV host Sylvia Jeffreys promises that wasn’t the intention behind the dress she wore to the 2017 Logie Awards, even though many think she did look like … well, for lack of better words … a giant vajayjay.
The anchor wore a floor-length light pink gown that was fitted down to the skirt, which flared out with a small train. The Rebecca Vallance dress featured a parallel pair of ruffles cascading down the front, which to some looked like labia.

Jeffreys apologized for possibly offending anyone on her show the next day, but she kind of just made it worse, in a hilarious way. “I should apologize; apparently a few people are in a flap over it this morning,” she said, inciting fits of laughter from her co-anchors. Apparently, when trying to move away from the vagina comparisons, the word “flap” should be avoided. “Nothing controversial intended,” the blonde promised.
The story of how the dress came to be is actually really cool, worthy of a ton of praise, and has nothing to do with body parts. “Here is a fun fact, though,” Jeffreys tried to continue through the laughter. “The dress is made out of the leftover fabric from my bridesmaid’s dresses.” But her co-anchors could barely concentrate — she lost them at the word “flap.”

Jeffreys was not the first to arrive at the Australians-accidentally-wearing-vaginas party. Aussie Edwina Bartholomew, a presenter for Sunrise, wore a Rachel Gilbert gown to the 2016 Oscars with a detail that apparently looked a lot like a vulva. And it wasn’t even pink. The baby blue gown featured a ribbon detail on the front of the skirt. It was fashioned in a loop that to many watchers resembled the external opening of the vajayjay.

Bartholomew thought she resembled Elsa in Frozen. Whoops. “Channelling Elsa from Frozen in @rachelgilbertau,” she captioned an image of her on the red carpet in the dress. “Nice but why is there a uterus on the outside of your dress lol?” one Instagrammer commented.
Jeffreys summed it up perfectly: “I wouldn’t think there was anything controversial about a ruffle, but there you go.”
