Reese Witherspoon #TellUsMore

This morning Reese Witherspoon put out a call on social media for reporters on the Oscar red carpet to #askhermore. So we took her up on it as she arrived at the awards show. Instead of asking about her pre-ceremony beauty regime or if she was “nervous,” Yahoo Style posed this to Witherspoon: What does it mean for you to be a film producer and help create strong roles for women in Hollywood?
"That is a great question," said the actress, who is nominated for her role in Wild, which she also produced. "I feel really lucky that I started my production company two years ago and in that time period we’ve gotten Gone Girl to the screen and Wild. We have so many more books that we’ve optioned and I’m excited about creating strong leading roles for women in this wonderful industry.”
Witherspoon has, of course, attended in years past, but this year overall represents a shift in the career of the 38 year-old actress.
"It feels different because it feels like I’m in control of my own destiny," she said. "In a certain way it feels like I’m not waiting for people to come to me and I’m creating great parts for other women too. It’s been great to sit down with other actresses and hear their frustrations and concerns. Like, ‘Hey what is your dream part and how can we make it happen?’" Cheers to that sister! And no mani-cam in sight.
