Rihanna, Kylie, and Keke Wore It: The Reversible Vetements Camouflage Coat
Though celebrities hire stylists and work with showrooms to ensure that their red-carpet moments haven’t been worn by anyone else, street style is a bit different. Season after season, key pieces slowly creep into the around-town looks of various stars. This season, one of those key pieces has been the Vetements reversible camouflage parka made in collaboration with Canada Goose.
Vetements is among the buzziest brands of recent memory. With its creative head having taken up the reins of Balenciaga, it has established that the Vetements effect is here to stay. But by steadily churning out covetable collections, typically done as a part of a link-up with another, more established label, the brand also stays on the edge of cool.
Rihanna has been a big fan of the label, wearing multiple pieces since they first came on the scene. In mid-January, she turned up in New York wearing the reversible coat, green side out (pictured above). Pairing it with a fleece jumpsuit from her own line, the music star was clearly taking a night off.
Later in January, Kylie Jenner also was out in New York in need of some warmth. Why not a Vetements parka? It’s already been established that the star doesn’t have a problem borrowing inspiration from Rih Rih, so why not cop the same camouflage piece but flipped to reveal the gray side? Good enough, right?
Now in February, Keke Palmer has joined the squad. Like her sisters in style, the star was photographed on a street in NYC, presumably for a night off, but she didn’t hesitate to strike a pose for the paparazzi. Instead of a jumpsuit she paired the oversize coat with a T-shirt, choker, destroyed jeans, and thigh-high embroidered boots.
Thankfully for everyone, the piece is actually still available, so you too can be a part of the crew. You can get it online for a cool $3,640 on SSENSE … paparazzi not included. So maybe it’s not for everybody.
