As the prime minister’s wife, Samantha Cameron has continuously supported British designers through her sartorial choices. And even as the United Kingdom voted to leave the United Kingdom, she still wore clothes from her country.
As David Cameron announced that he would be resigning from his position the morning after the Brexit was approved, his wife stood by him at 10 Downing Street wearing a Preen by Thornton Bregazzi dress.

The knee-length dress with three-quarter length sleeves is from Preen’s Resort 2015 collection. White on top and red on the bottom, the abstract check print pattern featured an array of colors including blue, yellow, and lilac, as well as realistic florals. She cinched her waist with a simple black leather belt and finished the look off with olive green heels.

This isn’t the first time Samantha’s worn Preen. Last year, at a happier time, she wore an electric blue A-line dress from the same collection with similarly psychedelic designs.
Speaking to The Telegraph, Justin Thornton and Thea Bregazzi, the husband and wife behind the brand, explained of their relationship with Samantha, “She just rang us and said, ‘Can I come to the studio and try on a few frocks?’” Other fans include Kate Moss, Diane Kruger, and Michelle Obama.
