Sarah Jessica Parker doesn’t think wearing black to her wedding was quite as chic as the rest of us do! The 51-year-old Divorce star is coming up on her 20th wedding anniversary to hubby Matthew Broderick next year, and chatted about her marriage with longtime pal Andy Cohen on Thursday’s Watch What Happens Live.

When the Bravo host asked about Parker’s “badass” decision to wear black to her wedding, she replied, “Oh, I wish it was because I was badass. I just was too embarrassed to spend any time looking for a wedding dress. There was a store that I liked that I knew, and I just went and got whatever they had hanging.”

Though Cohen was complimentary of the decision, Parker said, “No, I would do it differently.”

One thing she doesn’t regret is spending some time backstage recently with Kim Kardashian and Kanye West. The HBO star attended the 39-year-old rapper’s Madison Square Garden show with her son James.

“She’s a lovely person,” Parker said of the reality star, who previously called the Sex and the City alum her “idol.” “I found Kanye to be incredibly warm.”

Parker’s new show, Divorce, will premiere on Sunday on HBO. The New York native recently opened up to ET’s Jennifer Peros on the red carpet about her own marriage compared to her character’s estranged relationship.

“It feels so separate that it doesn’t require comparison or a sigh of relief,” she told ET. “When you’re an actor, I think, you don’t always have to use your own life to inform or look for relief.”
