Sasha and Malia Obama Are on Vacation With Their Parents in Indonesia
Sasha and Malia Obama were spotted on Tuesday while vacationing in Bali, Indonesia. The Obama sisters kept a casual vacation look but wore yellow sarongs and sashes over their clothes in modest reverence to the holy places they were visiting on the island.
Accompanied by their parents, the teens visited The Tirta Empul Temple located near the town of Tampaksiring. The temple the Obamas visited is famous for its holy spring water where Balinese Hindus go to for ritual purification.
While America is used to seeing snaps of the former first family on vacation on Martha’s Vineyard and Hawaii, their current trip is a 10-day journey through Indonesia. In addition to visiting the famous temple, pix have also been snapped of the Obamas whitewater rafting on the Ayung River, and visiting the island’s famous rice fields.
Indonesia is a country near and dear to the former president’s heart. Obama spent a portion of his childhood in Indonesia after his mother married an Indonesian man in the late ’60s. Obama’s half sister, Maya Soetoro-Ng, is of Indonesian descent.
This family trip might be the last one all four Obamas can enjoy together for awhile. Malia is soon leaving home to start college at Harvard. Gotta get those family trips in while you can.
