Scarlett Johansson Is a Grownup Who Dresses Herself — in Balmain, Nonetheless
It’s tough for Scarlett Johansson, an already talented actress who’s stylish to boot, to look bad in anything. But the 32-year-old actress has hit a real style high note with her latest outfit.
Taking to the red carpet at the Ghost in the Shell premiere in New York, Johansson ensured all eyes were on her in a form-fitting, glittering Balmain number. Boasting both a plunging neckline and a thigh-high split, the star looked every inch the A-lister in the rainbow gown.
And to think she’s one of the rare few Hollywood female celebrities who doesn’t have a stylist.
“I’m a grownup who dresses herself,” Johansson recently told Yahoo Style.
“I just feel better when I wear my own clothes,” she said. “I worked with incredible stylists in the past, but I never feel like I’m wearing something I would pick out myself. It’s somebody else’s awesome version of what I look good in. That’s great for a photo shoot. But I’m not in a photo shoot. I’m just being me.”
Her most recent hit, from the brand beloved by the Kardashians, isn’t available on Balmain’s site yet (it went down the runway recently at the spring 2017 ready-to-wear show).
It’s not the first time that French ‘It’ label has dressed the actress for the red carpet. Just a few weeks ago in Japan, she wore an asymmetric, teal dress for another one of the film’s premieres.
She also opted for a pink and purple printed number in London in 2015, for the Avengers: Age of Ultron European premiere.
Other brands that the actress has sported during the Ghost in the Shell promo tour have included luxe label Haney and Azzedine Ala?a.
