Fendi’s Fall Fur Looks a Little Too Familiar

Usually, a luxury item gets revamped by a cheaper, younger brand. (Céline, meet Zara. She’s like obsessed with you.)
But today at Fendi, things seemed to go the other way: Among Karl Lagerfeld’s many sumptuous fur pieces was a sky-blue coat that was so cute, so cool, so snuggly … and so similar to a 2014 piece by Shrimps, the London faux-fur brand created by Hannah Weiland to deter her stylish fans (like Amandla Stenberg and Alexa Chung) from buying the real thing.

(An even weirder coincidence: Weiland’s sometime muse Adwoa Aboah walked for Fendi in her one and only Milan show — she even brought her luggage backstage to jet back home ASAP.)

But the blue fashion fur wasn’t the only doppelganger at Fendi’s super-fun show, which also marked the debut of two new furry friends named Bug-Kun and Piro-Chan. It also featured a rising model — Tennessee native Rhiannon McConnell (who looks so much like Lily-Rose Depp that front row editors were doing double-takes, especially because Depp is also a model for Lagerfeld) — but she wore Chanel, not Fendi.
