Selena Gomez & Jennifer Aniston—New BFFs?

Jennifer Aniston, the longstanding titleholder of America’s Sweetheart, exudes friendliness and seems like one of the most approachable people. But when Selena Gomez encountered the actress for the first time last year, she got intimidated and cowered away in fear. Yet when the 22-year-old got the opportunity to meet the Friends star again, this time she didn’t just say hi, she got a hug, a chat — and, seemingly, a new friend.
Attending an event at the Chateau Marmont in Los Angeles, Calif., “The Heart Wants What It Wants” singer made sure not to make the same mistake when faced with one of her idols. “I ran away from Jennifer Aniston when she said, ‘Hi,’ I was terrified of her,” Gomez admitted to Radio Disney in 2013 following the pair’s initial near get-together. “I didn’t know what to do — it’s Rachel!”

Both wearing little black dresses (basically a uniform for the 45-year-old) to the party hosted by Perrier-Jouet and Cinelou Films for Aniston’s upcoming movie Cake, also brought out other celebrities such as Zach Braff, Brittany Snow, and Mel Gibson, Gomez obviously only had eyes for one person.

“I have not only been following her career as a fan since I was 8 and now get to watch her completely transform in her new movie CAKE, I have gotten to have real conversations with such a real heart, made my entire year. #cake #goseeit,”Gomez wrote on Instagram on Friday following their meeting.
