Selena Gomez Swaps Bodysuits for Turtlenecks in Asia

It was just last week that Selena Gomez was nearly banned from performing in Malaysia because of her suggestive lyrics and skimpy clothes — and it looks like the controversy may have had an impact on her stage outfits.

Tuesday, the pop star shared photos on both her personal and Revival Tour Instagram accounts of the new, somewhat seasonably questionable outfit added to her sartorial repertoire: A slim-fit black turtleneck paired with high-waisted, black satin pants; round, retro sunglasses; and pointy heels. It was actually in the Malaysian city of Selangor that Gomez debuted the outfit, captioning one of her pics, “New wardrobe in Asia.” The monochromatic look is decidedly more sophisticated — and more modest — than many of Gomez’s past stage getups, which have included bedazzled bodysuits, exposed midriff tops, and sheer skirts.

I mean, even her eyes were covered up! That’s dedication.

It’s unclear whether the black ensemble will remain a part of the Revival Tour once its Asian leg wraps (the August 3rd show in Tokyo is the last date in Asia before Gomez and Co. ship off to Australia) — but even if it doesn’t, at least Selener now has an amazing new outfit to wear while doing whatever in her time off.

After all, it is winter Down Under.
