Steven Tyler + The Source Family + Elizabeth Hurley In Austin Powers = Rodarte Spring 2016

After giving us disco fever last season, Rodarte designers and Pasadena-based sisters Kate and Laura Mulleavy infused their Spring 2016 collection with an air of California cool. Not that they abandoned sparkle. The first look was a slate blue hand-beaded blazer and pants that shimmered in the glow of the Dan Flavin light installation that served as the show’s set. Worn with a long ‘70s-esque chiffon scarf and gold booties, there was a Ziggy Stardust vibe that permeated throughout the show. (It was enhanced by the Electric Light Orchestra soundtrack orchestrated by Michel Gaubert.) There were also a plethora of pretty, lace-trimmed bohemian dresses that every editor was drooling over afterwards. Worn with predominately metallic accessories, we decided that if Steven Tyler and Vanessa Kensington (aka Elizabeth Hurley in Austin Powers) had a love child, they would all retire to Laurel Canyon to live with the Source family in all of their blissed out glory.
