Thanks to Harvey, this couple has canceled their wedding for the third time because of floods
Jenny Swarers and Dustin Morgan would really like to get married, but floods just keep getting in the way of their best laid plans.
The two have known each other since high school and started dating five years ago. They decided to get married, but after a year of planning their first attempt at a wedding was dashed by floods in their area of Texas, near the Sabine River, in April last year. Their second attempt was also derailed, by the repairs that needed to be done after the floods.
They finally decided to take their ceremony out of town — to Houston, Texas, this very weekend. As the trend dictates, those plans have also been marred by the threat of floods, this time due to Hurricane Harvey, the storm that made landfall along the Texas coast as a Category 4 storm on Friday.
While the storm has since been downgraded, it still meant Swarers and Morgan had to stand by and watch their wedding get downgraded as well. When asked if and/or when they’ll make new plans, the couple joked that they’re looking for someplace as far from water as possible. They’re considering Las Vegas. Let’s just hope the Hoover Dam doesn’t hear about it.
