Was it New York Fashion Week or Kanye West week? It’s hard to say which earned more headlines. The rapper’s antics completely overshadowed any article of clothing, every runway, and all of the celebrities sitting front row—combined. But the reviews of the Kanye West x Adidas presentation last week, which were predominantly negative, have basically sent the “FourFiveSeconds" artist into a tailspin. West, who is usually guarded when it comes to his personal life, has revealed trade secrets about the Kardashian-Jenners, details about his ex-girlfriend Amber Rose, race, and Beck. Here, in chronological order, is everything West has done or said to raise red flags over the past seven days.
1. Kanye West’s NYFW premiere.
West’s debut on the New York Fashion Week scene was highly anticipated. Unfortunately, his stocking bodysuits didn’t receive rave reviews from everyone, and ever since he’s been trying to justify his design choices and fight back against the haters.
2. Kimye turns into wolves.
The married couple wore matching blue colored contacts to transform into wolves for West’s performance of his new single on Saturday Night Live's 40th anniversary show.
3. Kanye defends his collection to Style.com.
“It’s up to you to choose whether or not I’m chic enough to sit at your dinner table,” he said. “And I could give a f*** about your dinner table, by the way. I’ve got my own petrified Rick Owens table in my house. Is that chic enough?” This quote is just one of many gems to come out of the interview. Read the whole thing here.
4. Kanye meets Ralph Lauren.
A picture is worth a thousand words.
5.. Fern Mallis doesn’t like Kanye and it really upsets him.
New York Fashion Week creator Fern Mallis told Page Six, “I’m kind of over Kanye. …I mean, I’m not a fan of his music, and the attitude and the agenda is not my style.” This comment prompted a late-night Twitter rant from @kanyewest.
6.. Kanye goes off on Twitter.
6. Kanye tries to make everything better by talking on a morning radio show
On Friday morning, West gave an hour-long interview to New York radio station Power 105.1 FM. Some of the highlights include:
Thoughts on his shoe line: "Truthfully, I’m the most influential person in footwear."
Thoughts on racism: "The first thing we’re gonna do to stop racism is stop focusing on racism."
Thoughts on 17-year-old Kylie Jenner’s relationship with Tyga, 25. Although the pair have denied they’re a couple, West’s comments seem to confirm speculation: "He got in early, I think he was smart."
Thoughts on Amber Rose: "I had to take 30 showers before I got with Kim." (Rose then fired back on Twitter.)
