Tiffany Trump Quotes Muhammad Ali in Stylish Memorial Day Photo
Tiffany Trump spent Memorial Day in subtle style and honored a fighter — but not the kind traditionally honored on the holiday.
President Trump’s youngest daughter posted a picture on Instagram on Monday in which she posed with her boyfriend, Ross Mechanic, and wore a casual chic ensemble. In the caption, she quoted legendary boxer and activist Muhammad Ali.
“Don’t count the days, make the days count.” – #MuhammadAli

Tiffany and her boyfriend posed near the beach for the photo, with Tiffany wearing white jeans, a pink and white striped sweater, a headband, and what look like Gucci loafers. The sweater had cold-shoulder cutouts. It was the perfect beach outfit for an atypically chilly start to summer.
And while the outfit was well coordinated, the quote didn’t really go with the photo. It was an odd choice for Tiffany to honor the late Muslim boxer — who famously refused to be inducted into the U.S. Army, citing religious reasons — on Memorial Day. Muhammad Ali’s own family has fought against Tiffany’s father’s proposed Muslim ban. Ali’s own son, Muhammad Ali Jr., and ex-wife Khalilah Camacho-Ali were detained by immigration officers at the airport for hours in February, despite being U.S. citizens, and were questioned about their Muslim faith. Ali Jr. and Camacho-Ali subsequently launched a religious freedom campaign against Donald Trump.
Jezebel reasoned that Tiffany likely just chose the quote because “she like[s] her boyfriend and how this quote sounds.”

Tiffany’s social media followers are equally confused. “Oh the irony, it hurts,” one person commented on the photo. “U r using a quote from a Muslim! I think that is a good progress for u and your family,” another pointed out. “Omg a Trump quoted a Muslim man how crazy,” a third agreed. “Muhammad was a Muslim so your father’s xenophobic policies would probably have disgusted Ali,” wrote another follower.
@TiffanyATrump Does your dad know you're out here quoting Muslims? lol.

Only a few made comments on her outfit, and those were all positive.
Another person pointed out Tiffany’s big sister Ivanka Trump’s even more poorly timed Memorial Day post, writing, “Your sister says make ‘Champagne Popsicles to Celebrate Memorial Day.’”
The commenter was referring to a tweet posted by the official Twitter account for Ivanka Trump’s brand.
Make champagne popsicles this #MemorialDay: https://t.co/1m6ceESqnS

Ivanka was subsequently dragged through the mud due to this insensitive tweet.
@IvankaTrumpHQ Ivanka, this is my father. He served 6 tours in Vietnam and doesn't give a fuck about your champagne popsicles today. #MemorialDay #Veteran pic.twitter.com/Aj9xRTWnsF

@IvankaTrumpHQ My father did not spend two years in service to America so you could use a day of remembrance for fallen soldiers as a BRANDING OPPORTUNITY. pic.twitter.com/wnGXIunat9

So, by comparison, Tiffany may have had a better Memorial Day.
