Tippi Hedren, Melanie Griffith, and Dakota Johnson Pose Together for First Family Photo Shoot
Ahead of the publication of her memoir Tippi, Tippi Hedren was shot for Vanity Fair with her daughter Melanie Griffith and granddaughter Dakota Johnson. For the first time, the family members were photographed together for a publication. “The three generations just made me think about Mom, born in 1930, and me, in the 50s, and Dakota, in the 80s,” Griffith says. “The progression of life is really beautiful.” The women might be close, but they don’t give each other acting advice. “No, we never even talk about it,” Hedren responds with a laugh. “Isn’t that interesting?”
The 86-year-old’s book reveals behind-the-scenes tales from the sets of The Birds and Marnie, what it was like working with Alfred Hitchcock and Charlie Chaplin, her sanctuary for lions, tigers, and other big cats, and raising a family in Hollywood.
