On Twitter, kids are daring each other to wear ridiculous first day of school outfits
The end of the summer is plagued by one thing — back to school. This year, students are going all out on social media planning their first day outfits. While the first day back comes with the pressure of first impressions and lots of attention, students usually want to put their best foot forward. But now it seems like they might just be dressing for the ‘gram, or the Twitter retweet.
What stresses me out the most when school starts is finding my outfit for the first day of school

In a series of tweets, kids anticipating the first day of school are already picking out their outfits by crowdsourcing opinions from Twitter followers. Instead of asking about a cute outfit to wear, they’re looking to count retweets on their photos as a dare to wear some of these, um, interesting ensembles.

It wouldn’t be terrible if any of the kids above rocked these looks in the hallways, but there are some downright whacky options out there.

As the saying goes, be careful what you wish for, because with viral recognition comes the responsibility to keep your promises. For Sierra, that means actually wearing those fish slippers to school.
In >24 hours I had to buy my "Freaky Fish Slippers" & tbh the only thing I'm mad about is that they show my toes https://t.co/OjYl5MMtgX
