When it comes to style, the gym is usually a space that’s dominated by athletic brand logos, from Nike to Addidas to Reebok. But a sneaker that’s currently gracing the feet of Hollywood stars is refreshingly understated.
Just ask Kourtney Kardashian, Jessica Alba, and Emma Roberts, who seem to be fans.
Athletic Propulsion Labs (APL), was founded in 2009 by identical twins Adam and Ryan Goldston and has gathered quite the cult A-list following. Both are former college athletes — one played basketball, the other, football, at the University of Southern California — and dreamed about creating a product that’s the perfect mix of design and performance. So they did.
The brothers launched their first shoe — the Concept 1 basketball shoe — in 2010. It featured a technology called Load N’ Launch, which they say can help you leap higher by capturing the maximum amount of energy via compression.
Today, the APL TechLoom Phantom running shoe is a favorite with fitness-obsessed Hollywood females.
