With designs ranging from Hollywood glamour to 21st century technology, Zac Posen’s new collection for David’s Bridal of wedding gowns and social occasion dresses—great for bridesmaids by the way—continues to offer up couture looks at affordable prices. (The most expensive dress is $1,850 and it comes with feathers.) In addition to classic white, Posen went for dark romance with a group of black gowns for “the edgier bride.”
“I put so much detail into these dresses so they feel like a custom piece,” Posen tells Yahoo Style. With gowns that go up to size 26, he is also appealing to wide variety of silhouettes.
Brides will find a mix of traditional and modern looks ranging from a lace dress with an organza and lace overskirt to an off-the-shoulder fluted silhouette with an open back and dramatic train to a ball gown with a feather and beaded peplum.
It’s early yet, but so far during Bridal Fashion Week, designers are offering their brides a sexier silhouette. “Each dress has it’s own kind of sensuality,” says Posen. “On wedding dresses with long sleeves, I like where the back of the wrist and the buttons meet, it’s a real sensual place. A great piece of clothing should support and seduce you as the wearer.”
A runway gown that Posen had designed a few seasons earlier inspired one standout piece. It features a digital print of over-sized pink blooms on a black dress on the corset bodice and floor-length skirt.
Never one to miss a beat, the designer has even thought about the accessories too. His newest selection of Truly Zac Posen extras include Art-Deco headpieces, blushers and veils, and pumps.
The complete line will be in David’s Bridal stores this fall.
