A$AP Rocky’s 3D-Printed Puma Mostro Is One of the Most Bonkers Sneakers You’ll Ever See

A$AP Rocky and Puma‘s partnership is quickly growing in the amount it’ll bear, and some of that fruit is beginning to look as strange as a durian.
The A$AP Rocky x Puma Mostro 3D will release on the same day this week as his two new distressed Inhale sneakers, as Puma has confirmed with just days to spare. A resin-based 3D-printing process reimagines the recently revived archival sneaker as an alien slip-on. Spikes of varying sizes protrude throughout the perforated shoe, with a wider honey-comb pattern used around the ankle. The thicker spiked sole leaves a cavern at midfoot, and a spray paint-like finish gives the Mostro 3D its black and red look.
Since the deal making Rocky creative director for Puma’s Formula One line was announced last fall, it’s been quite on the footwear front, save for the release earlier this year of the Inhale in its original colorway with a special insole branded for the rapper appearing on 100 randomly distributed pairs. That’s finally set to change on Thursday, as three A$AP Rocky sneakers shown at his Paris Fashion Week show over the summer all drop at once.
Puma soft-launched the return of the Mostro, a lifestyle sneaker popular in fashion circles in the early 2000s, in 2023 before bringing it back in full force this year for the model’s 25th anniversary. Different colorways, materials and collaborations have given the sneaker inspired by ’80s surfing shoes and ’60s track spikes slight reconfigurations — but no changes have been as dramatic as Rocky’s 3D-printed version.
The A$AP Rocky x Puma Mostro 3D will release Thursday, September 26, through Puma’s website. Pricing is set at $250.
