Airtime was launched in the U.K. in 2016 by Techlive International, and is now available in more than 30 countries
“Airtime provides the finest award-winning content to its customers, often available while titles are still in their theatrical runs, including eight of the last year’s top ten box office earners. Along with international news and lifestyle & wellness content from the Global Fashion Channel and MyZen, its launch in Thailand offers customer satisfaction for service operators at a level never before available throughout the Kingdom,” said Frank Rittman, founding director of Absolute NT.
A lawyer by training, Rittman was senior VP, regional policy officer & deputy MD in Asia-Pacific for the Motion Picture Association for over 14 years, before moving into the private sector.
Absolute NT is a regional leader in providing non-theatrical exhibition services. These permit the legal distribution of film and TV titles to commercial venues beyond traditional cinemas.
Airtime offers different kinds of flexibility. It can run from as little as 1.2 Mbps up to 7.2 Mbps for high-definition content. Pay-per-view payments can be made via phone after scanning a QR code that is shown onscreen. The system also provides multi-language support for dubbed and sub-titled content and is currently available with 14 languages.
“We are confident that the system will be recognized [in Thailand] as an added value by service operators in this exciting and growing market,” said Tim Worrall, CEO of Techlive International.
