The injected EVA foam footwear market is more saturated than ever, yet brands are still finding ways to introduce fresh concepts to the fold. Recent additions like Fctry Lab’s Duck Boots, Birkenstock’s Birki-Flow and Crocs’ Echo Slides prove there’s still life in the trend, and now, a new entry from California-based streetwear label Diamond Supply Co. could add more energy to the industry-favorite manufacturing method.

Previewed Saturday by brand founder Nick Tershay (aka Nick Diamond) is the Diamond Supply Co. Coupes de Diamant. French for “Diamond Cuts,” the foam footwear features an angular design inspired by brilliant cut gemstones. The shoes are covered in pyramid-like peaks and valleys which mimic the look of diamond facets.

Tershay shared two variations of the Coupes de Diamant: an open-toe slide and a closed-toe clog. The slides were showcased in Diamond Supply Co.’s signature light blue as well as tan and white looks. Meanwhile, the clog variation was previewed in white.

In his Instagram comments, Tershay elaborated on the design development, noting that the nearly two-year process “wasn’t easy.” The Diamond Supply Co. founder also confirmed that the Coupes de Diamant shoes would be released in November, but did not provide an exact release date or price details.

In terms of footwear, Diamond Supply Co. is best known for its numerous collaborations with Nike SB. The duo’s first project was 2005’s Diamond Supply Co. x Nike SB Dunk Low, which is often referred to as “Tiffany” due to the color’s similarity to that of Tiffany & Co.

That pair is widely regarded as one of the most important 2000s-era Nike designs and was revisited in high-top form in 2014. Diamond Supply Co. also released “Black Diamond,” “White Diamond” and highly limited “Yellow Canary” SB Dunk Lows in 2018.
