First Look: Action Bronson and New Balance Are Making Performance Running Sneakers Together
More from Footwear News
Action Bronson and New Balance have already had a big year together; the duo have released three different collaborative styles of the 1906R sneaker, and the rapper in June began teasing another upcoming drop. Now, we’re getting another look at the soon-to-be-released Action Bronson x New Balance Minimus Trail collab along with a first look at a performance running sneaker.
Previewed Friday via Action Bronson’s @bambambaklava Instagram account is the aforementioned Minimus Trail along with the rapper’s rendition of the New Balance FuelCell Rebel v4 running shoe.
Based on this early look, the Action Bronson x New Balance FuelCell Rebel v4 appears to use a tan-colored mesh upper with oversized “N” branding in yellow and a sculpted midsole in mixed shades of gray. Neon green “Baklava” branding can also be seen on the tongue of the shoe.
Released in March 2024 globally, the FuelCell Rebel v4 is the fourth update to one of New Balance’s most popular running sneakers. Designed for everyday use, it offers the brand’s premium FuelCell foam cushioning with an updated geometric design. Weighing 7.5 ounces per shoe, New Balance says the FuelCell Rebel v4 is best suited for long runs but can also be used for shorter stints. Standard versions of the shoe retail for $140 in men’s and women’s sizing, although it’s likely the Action Bronson collaboration will see a premium price increase.
In his Instagram caption, Action Bronson also announced nicknames for both of the upcoming styles, adding that they will be released soon. The Minimus Trail is dubbed “Pluto,” while the newly revealed FuelCell Rebel v4 will be named “Foxtrot.”
Specific launch details of the Action Bronson x New Balance FuelCell Rebel v4 “Foxtrot” have not yet been confirmed, but it’s likely that the collaboration will be released from Action Bronson’s Specializing in Life e-commerce store as well as New Balance’s website. Readers can expect more updates on the FuelCell Rebel v4 as well as the Minimus Trail in the near future.
