Rick and Morty Season 7 Sets Max Streaming Date
Rick and Morty’s seventh season wrapped up Sunday night with “Fear No Mort,” another standout episode in what’s been one of the Adult Swim series’ strongest installments yet. But if you don’t have Adult Swim access and have been dying to see what you’ve been missing—including the new voices for Rick and Morty—here’s some good news: the show will be streaming on Max next month.
Announced yesterday, Rick and Morty season seven will arrive on Max January 22. A landmark season under any circumstances given the arrival of Ian Cardoni and Harry Belden—who proved seamless replacements for the ousted Justin Roiland as the voices of Rick and Morty, respectively—season seven also saw a huge shift in the show’s story dynamic, as Rick faced down his greatest nemesis, Rick Prime. Having killed the version of himself that eliminated every version of his wife, Diane, across every single dimension, Rick now faces a future without the pursuit of vengeance that’s been driving him since before we first met the character. After the season finale, well—no story spoilers, but Morty also has a lot to think about as he faces his future. In a recent interview with io9, showrunner Scott Marder teased that the Rick and Morty team has been plotting up through season 10, currently the last confirmed season for the show.
