Sateri Showcased a Trio of Sustainable Textile Fiber Solutions at Yarn Expo
Ushering material innovations onto the market takes collaboration across the entire value chain.
At the recent international fair Yarn Expo Autumn, held at the National Convention and Exhibition Center in Shanghai, China from Aug. 27-29, Sateri encouraged broader adoption of its materials by joining together with 18 downstream yarn partners to showcase applications for its man-made cellulosic fibers.

As an advocate of sustainable development, Shanghai-based Sateri themed its exhibition, “Technology Weaving Leads to the Future” and demonstrated high-quality solutions to the industry with innovative and environmentally friendly technology. The presentation of novel yarn developments using Sateri products and the partnerships outlined at the fair communicated and supported the strong market value of sustainable fibers. During the three-day exhibition, Sateri’s innovative products received widespread attention from industry audiences, indicating the appetite for lower impact options.
Natural origin, responsibility-led
Today, sustainability, technology and fashion have become important topics advocated by the textile industry. As one of the world’s leading cellulose fiber producers, Sateri has always regarded sustainability as the lifeline of corporate development. Relying on the advantages of its parent company RGE Group’s owned tree plantations and strict control from the raw material end, its six cellulose fiber factories have met the requirements of the EU Best Available Technology (EU-BAT), achieved a total sulfur recovery rate of 98 percent for carbon disulfide, and used clean production processes to reduce the impact on the environment.
Moreover, to help the green development of the industry, Sateri has three carbon-neutral products made using clean and efficient production processes, combined with the use of clean energy such as biomass and photovoltaic power generation.
Sateri’s environmental action extends beyond its products and facilities. The manufacturer actively participates in ecosystem protection plans, promotes the Poyang Lake freshwater health and wetland protection projects, and is committed to preserving and improving local ecosystems and promoting the sustainable development of local communities.
Product portfolio
Sateri is committed to the research and development of sustainable solutions, constantly exploring and empowering brands with responsible, innovative fibers. This commitment has led to a multi-level product portfolio that creates diversified market application opportunities.
At the exhibition site, the three series of product display areas attracted many visitors, who stopped and spoke with representatives from Sateri and its partners.
As a new generation of green fiber, lyocell has the characteristics of environmental protection and biodegradability mixed with a distinctive product style, which gives textiles a new vitality. Sateri is continuously investing in lyocell, leading to a growing number of downstream industry chain customers joining the lyocell development boom. On site at the show, Sateri’s partners displayed fabrics and clothing products for all seasons, covering woven, denim, home textiles and knitted products.
In response to the downstream concerns about the prevention and control of lyocell fibrillation—the fiber separation in yarn that can occur when textiles are wet and abraded, which can cause pilling—Sateri provides three cross-linking solutions that are formaldehyde-free and easy to operate. Cross-linking chemically treats the fibers after they are spun to prevent fibrillation. Sateri’s offerings include cross-linking in the spinning stage using Sateri Lyocell CL series, cross-linking in the dyeing factory after finishing and cross-linking in the bath. The three solutions can be used alone or in combination to give lyocell fabrics a smoother appearance, creating clothes with a more premium look and feel.
Compared with other fibers, Sateri Lyocell fiber is strong and can bring higher production efficiency and economic benefits under air spinning and vortex spinning processes. The resulting yarn properties give downstream companies more choices and further improve fabric quality.
Another of Sateri‘s star products is EcoCosy?, its sustainable viscose that is 100 percent bio-based and biodegrades in 28 days. The EcoCosy? series of products can be blended with different fibers such as cotton, linen, wool, silk and more, revealing the full performance potential of the chosen fibers and allowing materials to complement each other’s advantages. This leads to clothing with extreme comfort.
Closing the loop
At the exhibition site, Sateri’s recycled circular fiber brand FINEX also received frequent customer inquiries. FINEX was established under the background of sustainability, aiming to promote the resource utilization of waste textiles and reduce environmental pollution and unused resources caused by discarded textiles.
Through circular innovation, FINEX products use pre-consumer textile waste and post-consumer old clothes such as jeans and T-shirts to produce recycled fibers, opening up a circular path of “resources to products to consumption to recycled resources.” Sateri has now increased the proportion of recycled inputs in FINEX to 50 percent, demonstrating the company’s product breakthrough in the circular economy.
Sateri has always paid attention to technology and process innovation, and the company aims to work with value chain partners to create a new future for the textile industry.
