You Can’t Share Passwords Anymore, but Netflix Just Made It Easy to Share Your Favorite Moments
Let’s face it: No one wants to see you demonstrate the Wednesday Addams dance. Thankfully, you can now easily send your friends the actual “Wednesday” clip — and any other must-see scenes — with Netflix’s newest feature.
Netflix’s “Moments” allows its ad-free members to bookmark, save, and share their favorite scenes from shows and movies on Netflix — so long as you’re watching Netflix on your phone or tablet. Moments has already begun to roll out to qualifying members globally; it will be available on iOS a few weeks before coming to Android devices.

A Netflix spokesperson told IndieWire that they “hope” to make the feature available to its ad-supported users in the future. The spokesperson also told IndieWire that “at this time we don’t have plans to bring this feature to TV.”
The Moments feature can be used with any film or series.
“All shows and movies on Netflix — whether originals or licensed titles — can be saved with the new feature,” the spokesperson said. “However, if a licensed title leaves Netflix, any Moments saved from that title will also disappear. If the title returns to Netflix, your saved Moments will automatically reappear on your list.”
Here’s how it works: Tapping the Moments button at the bottom of your screen will automatically save the scene you are currently watching to your My Netflix tab. You can revisit those scenes at anytime, and if you rewatch the episode or film, it will automatically start from the scene you bookmarked. So hopefully that’s what you wanted…
To share Moments on Instagram, Facebook, or other platforms (and via messaging apps), just tap the corresponding icon. The recipient of the Moment will need to be a Netflix member to view — essentially a clip creates a timestamp, and the link routes users to their Netflix app straight to the shared scene. That means Netflix would collect another “view” for its records.

The rollout of the Moments feature was accompanied by a new ad campaign, titled “It’s so good.” Watch the spot featuring Giancarlo Esposito, Simone Biles, and Cardi B below.
Esposito, who opens the ad, stole our viral “Wednesday” example. The spot also shouts out “Squid Game,” “Stranger Things,” “Drive to Survive,” and “Baby Reindeer,” to name a few other Netflix originals.
