It's a new month, which means new Xbox Game Pass games!
Xbox Game Pass, PC Game Pass, Xbox Cloud Gaming, and the all-encompassing Xbox Game Pass Ultimate each provide numerous perks to subscribers, including unlimited access to the best Xbox Game Pass games and many more. It's often considered to be one of the greatest values in the video game industry, and Xbox is intent on driving that idea home with new additions to the services every single month.
Xbox Game Pass is available on Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, and Xbox One consoles. PC Game Pass is available on Windows PCs. Xbox Cloud Gaming grants remote access to hundreds of titles on practically any device through streaming. Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, as the name implies, is the quintessential subscription that includes all the aforementioned services, online multiplayer, exclusive perks, and EA Play access. With new games arriving all the time, it can be easy to lose track of new additions.
Here's every single game leaving the service, as well as all the new Xbox Game Pass games right now. If you want the complete list, be sure to bookmark our ultimate guide to every game on Xbox Game Pass. This list isn't as applicable to Xbox Game Pass Core and its curated library of Xbox games, but you can still keep up to date with all the titles available in the main Xbox Game Pass catalog.
Xbox Game Pass: Best new games this month
Say hi to the best recent Xbox Game Pass games. You'll rarely go wrong with the diverse selection of games on Xbox Game Pass, but there are always a handful of titles that stand above the rest — including, but not limited to, exceptional indie games, addictive multiplayer games, expansive AAA games, and Microsoft's first-party titles and projects. These are the best new games that have recently arrived on Xbox Game Pass that you shouldn't hesitate to play.
The Callisto Protocol
Available: June 13 — Xbox Series X|S Optimized, Xbox One, Windows PC, & Xbox Cloud Gaming
The iconic Dead Space franchise pioneered a new sub-genre among survival-horror games, but the franchise largely lay dormant for many years. While Electronic Arts worked on a remake of the original Dead Space, though, some of the creators that first built the series embarked on a mission to build a new sci-fi survival-horror experience. The result was The Callisto Protocol, a brutal but high-quality horror game that wore its inspirations on its sleeve.
Dead Space (2023) is also on Xbox Game Pass thanks to the inclusion of EA Play, but you don't have to be an Ultimate subscriber to jump into The Callisto Protocol, which is now available across Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and Windows PC. You'll play as Jacob Lee, trapped inside the oppressive Black Iron Prison on the moon of Callisto. Of course, this wouldn't be a horror game if the prison facility wasn't overrun by horrendous monsters and hideous creatures.
You'll have to learn to survive the terror of Callisto and find a way to escape, a task easier said than done. If you want to learn more about this survival-horror game, you can check out our The Callisto Protocol review.
Senua's Saga: Hellblade II
Available: May 21 — Xbox Series X|S Optimized, Windows PC, & Xbox Cloud Gaming
Senua's Saga: Hellblade II has been in the works for years, and it was worth the wait. Ninja Theory's sequel to its acclaimed, horrifying cinematic narrative-adventure, Hellblade 2 is a visual, audio, and technical showcase on Xbox Series X|S and Windows PC. It sets a new bar for what can be accomplished when video games are treated as art, and it's a truly marvelous accomplishment.
People who only value game length or gameplay amount need not look at Hellblade 2, as this game is wholly focused on delivering its powerful, emotion narrative through the lens of the player. It allows you to explore a devastatingly beautiful Iceland twisted by supernatural elements, following the journey of Senua as she sets out to save her people from slavery. It's an incredible gaming experience that's best done with a good pair of headphones.
If you want to learn more about it, you can check out my spoiler-free Senua's Saga: Hellblade II review, where I go into depth about the performance and stability, visuals, gameplay, narrative, accessibility, and even how the game runs on PC and handhelds.
Manor Lords (Early Access)
Available: Apr. 26 — Windows PC
Do you remember Banished? Many probably won't, but I do. It's one of the first games that made me desperately want a PC, and I made my first Toshiba Satellite laptop suffer just to run it. It was a medieval city builder with a focus on the individuals in your community and the brutal consequences of life whether or not you were adequately prepared. Manor Lords is the spiritual successor to Banished, and it's already shaping up to be brilliant.
Now available in early access on Windows PC (and a day one addition to PC Game Pass), Manor Lords puts you in the shoes of a lord and tasks you with designing and leading a thriving town of peasants. You must direct your people to gather resources, forage and hunt, build, arm and defend themselves, and much more. You can even walk among them as their lord, surveying your successes (and failures) from a more personal angle. It's a highly addictive city builder, as evidenced in our Manor Lords early access review.
Manor Lords has also been confirmed for an eventual Xbox Series X|S and Xbox Game Pass release, although it's not certain when that version will arrive. The developers likely want to accomplish a lot on top of optimizing the city builder for consoles, so it may be a while before we see the game on Xbox. Still, it's available now on Windows PC and it's a blast.

Xbox Game Pass: All known upcoming launch games
Microsoft gives us updates on games heading to Xbox Game Pass a few weeks before those games become available, usually twice a month. However, Xbox and ID@Xbox events toss aside this expectation to announce a flurry of games that are hitting Xbox Game Pass day and date, meaning they're launching into the service when they land on Xbox platforms. That means day one access to all of these games for Xbox Game Pass subscribers, including some of the best upcoming Xbox games.
Many of these games are far enough out that they don't even have a release date, and we're not certain exactly which platforms they'll come to through Xbox Game Pass. Still, this list in our Xbox Game Pass guide will give you an idea of what to look out for in the future of Xbox Game Pass. We'll constantly update this list as we get new information about release dates, when games become available, and what platforms are getting them.
