Sure, you can check the forecast at your upcoming destination. Or if you’re lucky, you can actually experience it.

As a way to make the world feel a bit smaller, Stockholm’s Arlanda Airport has installed a climate portal that gives travelers the opportunity to sample the weather at their upcoming destination.

The structure is separated into three rooms — hot, cold, and big — and uses live data to simulate actual climates in different locations around the globe.

The coolest thing about the climate portal is that it’s a fully immersive activity. Using wind generators, temperature variations, and audio-visual installations, travelers experience the weather using all of their senses. Whether they are walking through the deserts of Dubai or visiting New York city, travelers can experience the other side of the world simply by stepping into a door.

The portal uses changes in temperature as well as wind machines to simulate different environments.

“With the climate portal we wanted to explore the possibilities of not just taking you to your destination, but our destinations to you,” Michael Persson Gripkow, marketing director at Swedavia told CNN.

In addition to helping travelers experience other parts of the world, the minds behind the portal also hope it gives people the opportunity make last minute adjustments.

"It’s also a preview of where you’re going,”  said Yvonne Boe, Communication manager of Stockholm Airport. “So you know if you need to get that warm sweater or an extra pair of sunglasses before boarding.”

The climate portal will be open until August 31.
