10-Year-Old Kid Shows Off Amazing Bass Skills
A sensational 10-year-old bass guitarist showed off his skills on Good Day New York this morning. The excitement all started at Sam Ash Music in midtown Manhattan. Lil Asmar learned how to play the bass from his father, Darnell Asmar Johnson. Just two years later, the tables have turned. Now Lil is the teacher and his father is the student.
Johnson brags about how talented his son is. “He can do things that I haven’t written yet,” he says. “He knows how to read the music, he knows scales, he knows all of that stuff already.”
Lil Asmar’s work ethic and dreams are admirable. “It feels awesome. Everyone gets to see me play,” he says about performing onstage in front of an audience.
About to go into the fourth grade, Lil Asmar can be considered a bass prodigy. The next Paul McCartney or John Entwistle? We can’t even imagine what the future holds for him, but that Asmar thump has us all hyped.
