4 Different Ways to Dress Up as Carol From 'The Walking Dead' for Halloween
Of all the characters on The Walking Dead, Carol (Melissa McBride) has changed the most. She started out as a timid housewife who cowered around her abusive husband. But after his death, and the tragic death of daughter Sophia, Carol’s come into her own. In fact, we’d argue she’s the toughest character on the show now.

As we’ve seen, time and time again, Carol will do what she feels needs to be done for the greater good of the group. She killed Karen and David when they got sick in the prison, then burned their corpses without telling anyone. She executed Lizzie after the young girl murdered her sister and threatened baby Judith. And last week, she clearly felt no remorse — unlike Morgan — about killing the invading Wolves.
As Carol has evolved, we’ve seen at least four different versions of her — all of which you can dress up as for Halloween! Here’s how to be Carol, four ways:
Art by Imma Zimma
Normal Carol
It only took a couple of seasons for Carol to wise up. Her everyday outfit was simple and efficient: maroon top, beige jacket, khaki cargo pants, and holsters for her knife and gun. Bonus points if you can find a fake knife with finger holes.
Terminus Takedown Carol
This is the moment when Carol really turned into the badass she is now. All you need is a brown or beige cape and smear it with loads of fake blood and mud. Apply it to your face too, then go to the toy store to find a Nerf rifle. Remember to school your expression into one of grim determination.

Stepford Alexandria Carol
Button up a floral cardigan and carry around a plate of freshly baked chocolate chip cookies as the Carol who pretended to be a sweet, somewhat dim regular housewife in Alexandria. Tuck a fake gun into the back of your pleated khakis to complete the look.
Undercover Wolf Carol
Just as she did during the Terminus battle, Carol knew how to blend in when the Wolves attacked Alexandria — become one of them! Wear a dark blue hoodie, with the hood up, and cover the lower half of your face with a dirty-looking bandana. Then, write a “W” on your forehead with red paint or marker. And of course, you’ll need accessories: fake knife and fake gun.
The Walking Dead airs Sundays at 9 p.m. on AMC.
