Aubrey Plaza and Stephen Colbert Try to Deceptively Rescue Puppies
On Thursday’s Late Show, Aubrey Plaza helped Stephen Colbert adopt real-life puppies from an animal shelter, and even though cute puppies don’t need much selling, the pair took the liberty of lying about the dogs.
Colbert brought out a cute pooch and said, “This fine-looking fella is Slugger, a Lab mix! He’s certified in massage and is trained to poop only on the lawns of your enemies.”
Plaza held an adorable puppy and claimed, “Ace is a hound mix. He’s a nice boy. He can talk but chooses not to as a form of protest against wage inequality. Ladies, he gets you.”
Some of the pups like to lend a helping paw themselves. “Murphy is a good boy,” Aubrey said of one, “but more importantly, he’s a good man. He’s very civic-minded. When he’s not at the animal shelter, he volunteers … at another animal shelter.”
The Late Show with Stephen Colbert airs weeknights at 11:35 p.m. on CBS.
