Bryan Cranston and Gayle King Get Uncomfortably Close on ‘CBS This Morning’
Bryan Cranston stopped by CBS This Morning, and wouldn’t you know it? Things got weird. Cranston is promoting his new film, Wakefield, in which he and Jennifer Garner play husband and wife. The actors weren’t particularly close before filming, so to get comfortable with each other and make their onscreen relationship believable, they took intimacy training. Cranston gave anchor Gayle King a glimpse into what this intimacy training was like, and she got more than just a little uncomfortable.
Cranston and King stood face to face, very close, until King could no longer keep a straight face. Had they gone further, the intimacy training includes light touching of the hands, rubbing backs together, and standing next to the other person breathing in their essence. Garner recently spoke about the intimacy training on an appearance on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert.
“Bryan and I first had to stare into each other’s eyes for a long time. Like, an uncomfortably long time,” Garner said. “Then we had to stand next to each other and sniff each other,” she said later before breaking into laughter.
Despite how uncomfortable it was, the intimacy training helped.
“It helped propel us to a point where Jennifer and I were comfortable with each other,” Cranston said.
