Comedy Central Reveals (Fake) Donald Trump’s Own Series, ‘The President Show’
Your wish for President Trump to have his own TV show on Comedy Central has been granted, and, no, we’re not talking about his roast from 2011.
Trump, as impersonated by Anthony Atamanuik, will be the star of The President Show, premiering Thursday, April 27, after The Daily Show. The late-night series will feature desk segments, field pieces, and guest interviews, all with a “Trumpian spin.” Peter Grosz, of those Sonic commercials you can’t avoid, will play his sidekick, Vice President Mike Pence.
Atamanuik, who created the show, has perfected his impression on numerous TV appearances and on a 40-city tour of the “Trump vs. Bernie” debate comedy show.
As Atamanuik said about the new series: “Our political system is too broken for us to be content joking about one man, even though he is a disastrous silly little toddler boy. Mostly I’d just like to thank Comedy Central for giving us this platform to speak truth to power and, if we’re lucky, end up in prison!”
