Ed Sheeran Doesn’t Recognize His Old Friend on ‘The Graham Norton Show’
Pop music superstar Ed Sheeran took a break from melting women’s hearts to visit The Graham Norton Show. Sheeran’s new album, Divide, is due to be released March 3, but he’s already celebrating the success of the first two singles. Sheeran made history by becoming the first solo artist ever to have two songs debut in the Billboard Top 10. It seems as though Sheeran can do just about anything … other than recognize his childhood friend when he sees him.
The Graham Norton Show has a segment in which Norton and the guests talk to an audience member via video backstage. In this case, the audience member wasn’t just from the same city as Sheeran; he had gone to the same school. There was a slightly awkward moment when Sheeran asked if they’d known each other, which they had. In fact, they didn’t just know each other; they had been best friends, or best mates, as they called it. Sheeran blamed the fact that he couldn’t recognize the guy on the fact that he wasn’t wearing his glasses. But once he got closer to the monitor, he was genuinely shocked to see his old friend. Sheeran insisted that the man join them onstage, where the two old pals were reunited.
