Ellen Gives Her Take on the United Airlines Incident
After a recent video of a United Airlines passenger being brutally dragged off of a flight went viral, the airline began getting blasted by pretty much everyone, from celebrities to late night hosts to average United customers. On The Ellen Degeneres Show, the host gave her take on the controversial incident.
Ellen led with a few jokes, before saying, “There were a lot of issues here, but the biggest problem was the way that United handled it. They had a computer pick a random person and just took them off the plane. That seems like a bad policy. Here’s a better policy: Don’t overbook your flight.”
Ellen also brought up a different recent incident involving United Airlines in which a female passenger wearing leggings was not allowed to board her flight because of how she was dressed. As of Tuesday morning, United’s stock fell by 3.7 percent and the company was on the way to having $600 million wiped off its market capitalization.
