EMMY HISTORY: 'The Amazing Race' has been winning Emmys for Outstanding Reality-Competition Program as long as it's been a category. The show picked up its first statue in 2003 — and it's won nine additional times since, only losing out in 2010 to 'Top Chef' and in 2013 to 'The Voice.'
WHY IT DESERVES ANOTHER NOD: Pardon the pun, but the series remains an amazing logistical feat to pull off, what with all the behind-the-scenes coordination that’s required to get multiple teams of two from one side of the globe to the other and back again. And even after more than a decade on the air, the producers are able to come up with consistently inventive and entertaining challenges, like recreating the robotic choreography of a Japanese pop group. There’s no reason why 'The Amazing Race' can’t run (and win) for another ten years. —Ethan Alter
