HBO on Friday rolled out a series of new network bumpers, enlisting the casts of some of its biggest shows to appear in character and harmonize on the signature static intro that precedes all of its original programming. As you can tell, John Oliver isn’t all that into it.

“What is the point of this whole concept?” the Last Week Tonight host asks at the top of the video above. “Nobody tunes into HBO for static. That is not a beloved sound.”

Be that as it may, Oliver goes along with the “corporate bullying,” and is joined by a bevy of far more willing participants: Emilia Clarke and Kit Harington (Game of Thrones), Julia Louis-Dreyfus and Tony Hale (Veep), Lena Dunham and Allison Williams (Girls), Evan Rachel Wood and Thandie Newton (Westworld), Thomas Middleditch and T.J. Miller (Silicon Valley), Dwayne Johnson (Ballers), Sarah Jessica Parker (Divorce), Justin Theroux (The Leftovers), Issa Rae (Insecure), Ben Sinclair (High Maintenance), Jeff Garlin and J.B. Smoove (Curb Your Enthusiasm) and Elmo and Big Bird (Sesame Street).

Press PLAY on the bumpers above and below to see if your favorite HBO stars can carry a tune.
