Harry Styles Gets Grilled About Outlandish Obama ‘Sexual Relationship’ Rumor
On Friday, Graham Norton sat Harry Styles down for a round of Deadpan Challenge, in which he reads headlines about his guest and tries to determine what’s true.
First up, Styles had to tell whether he’d taken a carrot cake to a Fleetwood Mac concert. That he fessed up to, with the simple explanation that he — wait for it — likes carrot cake. It seems the musician might have a taste for things people either love or hate — like, say, carrot cake, or certain former U.S. presidents: Norton repeats a wild claim in the National Examiner that Styles had a sexual relationship with Barack Obama. Styles’s steady demeanor understandably breaks at that point, and Norton capitalizes on it, asking the former One Direction bandmate if he’d like to see a picture of the politician. “Damn, it hurts,” Styles mutters, in mock sadness.
It’s true that no one likes to be reminded of what they loved and lost — such as, perhaps, a multimillion-dollar, three-picture deal for the biggest movie franchise of all time? Norton asks whether Styles did in fact audition for the part of Han Solo in the upcoming Star Wars spinoff centered on a certain Corellian smuggler? Styles wouldn’t say, but his smirk suggests he might’ve been able to pull off the part had he nabbed it.
