John Stamos Reads Bad ‘Fuller House’ Reviews on ‘Late Night’
Netflix’s reboot Fuller House was just renewed for a second season. John Stamos swung by Late Night With Seth Meyers to talk about it but stumbled into the topic of the bad reviews the show has gotten. What better way to address the hatred than by reading those bad reviews on late-night television? “The Hollywood Reporter said, ‘It’s doubtful that there will be a more painful 2016 TV episode than the Fuller House pilot,’” read Meyers, while Stamos joked that the reviewer must have been attacked by a bear while watching the show.
It didn’t end there. The A.V. Club described the show as “a porn parody without the porn,” while The New York Times eloquently stated: “The series begins as a sitcom family reunion. It becomes self-conscious, dated, and maudlin reminder of the ceaseless march of time in your inevitable demise.” Stamos and Meyers jokingly mistook the last one for a compliment.
