Leah Remini Says Tom Cruise Could Single-handedly End Scientology

Since very publicly leaving Scientology in 2013, Leah Remini has been one of its most outspoken critics. Remini joined Bill Maher, a critic of religion in general, on Real Time, where she brought to light the one person who could bring down Scientology for good: Tom Cruise. Cruise has this power, according to Remini, because Scientologists believe that he is, on his own, clearing the planet … whatever that means.

For years, Cruise has been a mouthpiece for Scientology, speaking publicly about the merits of the so-called religion, brainwashing not being one of them. But it’s due to that brainwashing, Remini believes, that Cruise has that power. He is seen as infallible.

When Maher joked about Cruise clearing the planet when he couldn’t even make Jack Reacher a hit, Remini responded, “Scientologists believe that he did. And Scientologists believe that if he didn’t make it a hit, it’s because of suppressive, evil people working against him because he’s winning in life and he’s clearing the planet.”
