Lin-Manuel Miranda shows off embarrassing childhood VHS tape
On The Late Late Show with James Corden, Lin-Manuel Miranda announced his newest project: digitizing his old home VHS tapes. Miranda, who created the Broadway hit Hamilton, told Corden that he found some embarrassing tapes of his much younger self.
Miranda described one clip, “I am dancing to ‘Isle Thing’ by Weird Al Yankovic. My grandmother stops the taping because I’m not wearing a shirt and instead makes me wear the largest shirt in the history of the world, with good reason.”
He then showed the tape of his younger self gleefully and shirtlessly dancing to the silly song. Halfway through the clip, his grandmother says something to him and the video cuts to Miranda dancing in a white T-shirt that must be four sizes too big for him.
Corden then guilted Miranda into recreating the dance moves for the studio audience.
