‘Lip Sync Battle’ Goes Country in Least Country Way Possible
Two of country music’s hottest young stars went head-to-cowboy-hat-covered-head on Lip Sync Battle Wednesday night. Cassadee Pope and Dustin Lynch hit the stage for a country holiday extravaganza, although once they started lip-syncing, they left the country at the door.
Dustin started it off with a steamy performance of “What’s Your Fantasy” by Ludacris, as he sprayed whipped cream on the ladies in the front row. Cassadee followed that up with an angsty performance of Avril Lavigne’s “So Complicated.”
The country stars steered clear of country music on their second songs as well. Dustin performed an upbeat version of Lou Bega’s ’90s one-hit wonder “Mambo No. 5.”. Cassadee then took the stage with Panic! At the Disco’s hit “I Write Sins Not Tragedies” and was joined by the lead vocalist of the group, Brendon Urie. Unfortunately, Brendon’s last-minute appearance wasn’t enough, and Dustin took home the Lip Sync Battle belt.
Lip Sync Battle airs Wednesdays at 9 p.m. on Spike.
