‘Naked and Afraid’ Contestant Has to Be Evacuated

Day 28 proved to be too much for one of the Naked and Afraid XL contestants, and it looks like another will be right behind her. Tawny, who has been revered among her tribe and social media for her ability to keep her eyelash extension intact despite living in horrific conditions, finally succumbed to the brutal South African landscape.

While making a trip to the restroom (restbush?), Tawny blacked out and fell. Much like the other contestants, Tawny had grown tired and dizzy after enduring 28 days in sweltering heat with little food to eat. Her companion Jake said, “We’re starving to death.”

After examining her, doctors decided it was in her best interest to be evacuated to a nearby hospital for a full checkup and a chance to recover.

Meanwhile, Ryan had set off on his own because he grew tired of the camp’s inability to adapt to their environment. After leaving the group, he caught a large monitor lizard and found a wooly caper bush that was full of fruit. He had a large meal and went to bed by himself only to wake hours later with shooting pain in his diaphragm. While we are not sure what happens to him, the last video we see is him whimpering, “9 out of 10 pain. 10 out 10 — I’m passing out.”

Naked and Afraid XL airs Sundays at 10 p.m. on Discovery.
