‘Preacher’ Season 2 Trailer Exclusive: ‘Am I the Only One Who Thinks That’s, Like, Psychotic?’
It looks like Preacher is finally ready to embrace the road trip element of the original comic book. The Saint of Killers — okay, the show calls him The Cowboy (Graham McTavish) — is on the hunt, and from the looks of this exclusive Season 2 trailer, Jesse (Dominic Cooper) will be on the run from possibly the only thing on Heaven or Earth deadlier than he is.
That House of Voodoo makes it looks like we’ll soon see Cassidy’s (Joseph Gilgun) old ex, Dee. The Man in the White Suit (Morse Bicknell) is probably Herr Starr — the person tasked with keeping the secret bloodline of Christ safe also looking to use Jesse for his own ends. Of course, given that season one’s last scene in the diner is essentially page one of the comic, there’s no guarantee that any part of what Garth Ennis originally scripted in 1995 will see the light of day in 2017.
But many complained that last season was all story setting and character development. Or, as Tulip (Ruth Negga) says, “This thing ain’t even fun.” If it lives up to the trailer, the fun of Season 2 will blow the doors off year 1.
Preacher season 2 premieres Sunday, June 25 at 10 p.m. on AMC with new episodes airing Mondays at 9 p.m.
