'Saturday Night Live' #TBT: Hurry Up, 'Game of Thrones'
Saturday Night Live feels the pain of Game of Thrones fans.
The HBO drama’s seventh season comes to an end Sunday night after just seven episodes (the eighth and final season only has four). But even when GOT boasted 10 episodes per year, it still didn’t feel like enough — and felt slow as hell at times.
In this throwback clip, host Brie Larson and Cecily Strong are all of us during the excruciating long wait to resurrect Jon Snow.
“Just bring him back to life already!” Strong exclaims.
But Davos (Taran Killam) keeps teasing out the drama, insisting Jon is gone. “On a scale of one to 10, he’s a 10 of dead.”
Finally, Melisandre (Kate McKinnon) waltzes in, but she still takes her sweet time to do her Lord of Light business. Until she realizes that the scene isn’t cutting to King’s Landing or anything. It’s all in real, veeeeeery slow, Game of Thrones time.
Of course, now, time flies on the show and major events happen in the blink of an eye.
SNL returns for its 43rd season this fall on NBC.
