'Saturday Night Live' #TBT: Melissa McCarthy is a Vision of Summer Love
The sunny days and sultry nights of summertime are perfect setting for romance to bloom, as it does for Bobby Moynihan in this throwback Saturday Night Live sketch from 2014. He’s basically the heart-eye emoji as he gazes on Diane (McCarthy). She, meanwhile, is too busy chowing down to give him the time of day.
“Everyone noticed Diane. How couldn’t you?” he thinks dreamily, while McCarthy messily chomps on some barbecue ribs. As she smears sauce all over her face, Moynihan sighs, “From the first moment, it was electric.” Things turn tense for a moment as Diane begins to choke on her lunch, but it all has a happy ending, as Diane leaves her smitten suitor with these memorable last words: “I gotta pee.”
Summer love: Nobody said it was meant to last.
