Shocking ‘Voice’ Eliminations Leave One Coach Out of the Finale

Nick PaschalSupervising Producer, Yahoo Entertainment

TSoul and Vanessa Ferguson were the first to go at the “Red Chair Wedding” on The Voice Tuesday night, as four extremely talented artists were axed from the show. America had already chosen Chris Blue, Lauren Duski, and, surprisingly, Aliyah Moulden to move on to the finals. So it was up to Jesse Larson, Hunter Plake, and Brennley Brown to sing for their lives.

Instant save performances

Brennley was a “Warrior” as she hit the stage first for a fierce performance of “Warrior” by Demi Lovato. Hunter was up next with OneRepublic’s “Love Runs Out,” as he did his best to make sure his time didn’t run out. After Brennley and Hunter gave passionate performances, Jesse Larson hit the stage with a smooth performance of Chris Stapleton’s “Tennessee Whiskey.”

Gwen Stefani’s shocking loss

So in the end, America had to choose only one of those three to move on to the finale. And while Gwen Stefani had two of the best contestants coming into this week, in a shocking turn of events, she lost both of them, as Jesse was “instantly saved” by America.
