'Sons of Anarchy' Spinoff 'Mayans MC' Snags Pilot Order at FX
FX could soon be alive with the sound of revving engines — and the occasional blood-curdling scream — once more.
The network has given a pilot order to Mayans MC, a spinoff of Kurt Sutter’s Sons of Anarchy, which ran from 2008 to 2014. Sutter co-wrote the pilot with Elgin James, and will also serve as director.
Here’s the spinoff’s official synopsis, per FX:
Mayans MC is set in a post Jax Teller world, where EZ Reyes, a prospect in the Mayan MC charter on the Cali/Mexi border, struggles with his desire for vengeance against the cartel, and his need for respect from the women he loves.

Sons of Anarchy fans will recall the Mayans’ ongoing presence in the original series — a meddlesome force to be reckoned with, particularly for the men of SAMCRO.
Produced by Fox 21 Television Studios and FX Productions, the Mayans MC pilot is scheduled to begin production in March 2017 in Los Angeles. James will also serve as co-executive producer.
