‘Supergirl’ Season 2 Is for ‘Real Fans’ Says Cast
Want the scoop on all the big changes at Supergirl? The cast came to talk to us just after their panel at San Diego Comic-Con. Mellisa Benoist, Mehcad Brooks, Chyler Leigh, David Harewood, and Jeremy
Jordan are joined by newcomer Tyler Hoechlin, who plays Kara’s cousin, Superman.
In the above video, Leigh tells us — wordlessly — how she feels about relocating from sunny L.A. to rainy Vancouver, Canada. Harewood and Jordan talk about how switching networks is letting them sharpen their focus and make a show for their “real fans.” Then, Hoechlin gives us some insight into what it’s like to fill the shoes/boots of the Man of Steel — apparently, it involves some good-natured razzing from Supergirl.

In this next video, the cast fields some Twitter questions from fans. When asked about new villains, they tease us with the name of Batman villain Music Meister and the possibility of a musical episode. Less likely is an appearance by Dogwelder — a “superhero” co-created by Garth Ennis (Preacher) who welds dead dogs onto criminals. We expected things to change with the move from CBS to The CW… but they may have to move to Cinemax before we see that particular character.
Season 2 of Supergirl premieres Oct. 8 at 8 p.m. on The CW.
