The Green Arrow’s World Crumbles Around Him

This was a tough week for Oliver Queen on Arrow. Between girlfriend troubles, legal troubles, and impeachment troubles, Oliver’s world was crumbling around him.

First, Susan bluntly asked him, “Are you the Green Arrow?” Oliver answered, “Yeah” and then awkwardly played it off like he was just joking. Then Thea took matters into her own hands and discredited Susan’s work, which got her fired. When Susan confronted Oliver again, it did not end well. Susan said, “Unless the next words out of your mouth aren’t going to be a lie, I’d really prefer if you just said nothing at all” and then left the room.

If having your girlfriend angry at you isn’t bad enough, Green Arrow also made his way to the top of the SCPD’s most-wanted list for the murder of detective William Malone. After they tried to arrest the Green Arrow, Oliver went to captain Pike to get him to call off the dogs. When they ran into each other fighting some nasty women, the captain decided to let Green Arrow off the hook.

The episode ended with Oliver in even more trouble: An anchor in a TV news report said, “There has been a major cover-up relating to the murder of ACU detective William Malone. According to our sources, the mayor’s office ordered the falsification of autopsy reports to protect the identity of detective Malone’s killer.”

Arrow airs Wednesdays at 8 p.m. on CW.
